There is actually quite a bit of work with the party going on. Part of it was to raise enough money to be considered a serious candidate. George surpased that said number by a good margin. It’s tough out here but he has a good growing and organizing team.

This is a good showing by Fearing. He needs to keep at it. He’s got to work with the party to get more exposure and support and keep contacting donors. This is as much about coalescing the Democratic challenge to Hastings as anything. It amazes me that Hastings can be viewed as anything but an old guard crony that has become a fat cat in D.C., but without much benefit to his district.

I’ve met George several times and I find him very thoughtful and straight-forward. He is working hard to meet a lot of people and listen to their concerns and talk about his ideas.

I think George would make a great representative for this district - a guy who looks like he’d be a Republican but thinks like a solid Democrat, maybe even a progressive Democrat.
