I sent this letter to the editor of the TC Herald today... just in case they don't publish it, I'm going to be shameless and cut and paste here: Dear Editor: Where did the real Brad Klippert go?!? Although I live in the 16th Legislative District, I have entertained myself on occasion by visiting the website of Carol Moser’s 8th LD opponent. On my most recent visit, I noticed that his website had been “washed” of much of its previous extremist language. Does Mr. Klippert no longer want people to know that he is “a God fearing, Bible believing, Ten Commandment honoring, evangelical Christian candidate?” Also, his A to Z of issues that he would take up as being important to him in Olympia has been replaced. Why does Mr. Klippert not want voters to know that one of those items that were most important to him was censoring video and computer games --- not preparing for a diversified post-Hanford economy? The choice in this race is clear: sending Brad Klippert to Olympia will do nothing to help the Tri-Cities. The Republican voice is already weak in the Capital; sending the most extreme of voices from the right will ensure that Mr. Klippert will not only be marginalized by the Majority party, but even by his own. If Moser, Grant and Gregoire are defeated, Democrats would be better off to leave this area or find another Party. It wouldn't be a pretty picture with no County Democrats or State Legislators or Governor to support Eastern Washington priorities.
